We are passionate about helping people find clarity, direction, and confidence in their finances.
We seek to build financially stronger individuals and families because we believe that when people have solid ground in their financial lives, they impact their community for good.
Who We Are
Solid Ground Financial Planning is a fee-only firm that specializes in helping young professionals and families who value the impact financial planning can have on their current and future lives. Everyone should have access to personalized financial plans that continuously adjusts to their life events. That’s why our best work is accomplished by working with you on an ongoing basis, covering all areas of your financial life.
Jarrett has always had a passion for understanding financial health and wealth and knows that it’s his true calling. Jarrett has a bachelor’s degree in Finance, a master’s degree in Family Financial Planning and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. Jarrett lives in Lincoln, NE with his wife, Mycah, and their two dogs, Pasta and Yogi. For Jarrett, dreaming, saving, and investing in what matters most means exploring new places as often as possible and spending time with close friends and family.
Do I need to have a certain amount of money to work with you?
Nope! We want to help you at any stage of your life. As a young professional, you have many big life events going on: buying a home, traveling, saving in your 401(k), starting or growing your family, switching jobs, moving, and much more. We charge a flat rate, so as long as your monthly income can cover it, you’re good!
How do you get paid?
Solid Ground Financial Planning is a fee-only firm, which means we get paid only by you and not by selling any products or making any referrals to other providers. We are also fiduciaries, which means we put your interests first. When you put those together, it means that when we recommend an investment, an insurance policy or suggest you take some action, you can be assured that we think it is in your best interest and not because we are making any money off of it.
Can’t I just do all of this financial planning stuff myself?
The better question might be, “Do you want to do it yourself? Do you possess the knowledge, time, discipline, and follow-through to craft a holistic financial plan and then keep yourself accountable to your plan?
We believe there is great benefit in having a third-party, fee-only financial planner look at your financial life. We provide you with organization, accountability, objectivity, proactivity, education, and partnership along your journey towards financial solid ground.
What is a CFP?
The CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification is known for its (1) high standard of professional and continuing education; (2) stringent code of conduct and standards of practice; and (3) ethical requirements that govern professional engagements with clients. In order to become a CFP®, a person must meet strict educational, examination, experience, and ethical requirements.
Basically, this means that I went to graduate school, took a six hour test, and worked for several years in the finance industry so that you don’t have to. If you want to know more, you can check out the CFP Board website.
Can I be a client if I don’t live in the Lincoln area?
Absolutely! We are based in Lincoln, Nebraska but have the capability to meet and work with you wherever you are.
